Frequently Asked Questions

Standard ortho recovery was broken.
So like any good ortho, we fixed it.

  • Cold therapy is a clinically-validated pathway to assist with both pain management and the reduction of swelling/inflammation.

  • Yes and no. Cryotherapy is a new form of cold therapy that uses liquid nitrogen vapor to decrease superficial body temperatures in a way similar to traditional icing. The vapor is either applied locally to an injured area using a wand-like device, or released into a cryochamber that exposes the entire body to cold. However, the cold therapy we use with the SnoPak is more traditional.

  • SnoPak technology provides up to four hours of continuous cold treatment. Each SnoPak will last for approximately 50 freeze cycles. If the SnoPak is left in the freezer for extended periods of time, it will start to harden. After many freeze cycles, the SnoPak will begin to lose its loft (fluffiness). If this is the case, thaw the SnoPak slightly before using. If the SnoPak becomes hard, replace it with a new SnoPak.

  • Yes! All of the Graymont X bracing systems and the GMX universal wraps are cold therapy compatible so you can ice whenever it’s convenient for you.

  • Refer to your doctor’s protocol when it comes to your recovery plan.

  • Allow the SnoPak to freeze for 4 hours in the SnoBox prior to initial application. Depending on the strength of your freezer, the SnoPak might require some additional time.

  • Freeze the SnoPak by facing the black surface down in your freezer so that the air valve is facing up and exposed. Do not stack objects on top of the SnoPak. You can also freeze it in the SnoBox as well.
